Congratulations! Your councilpersons/judges/alderman have gotten the message and want to help promote cyber security in your community, so what now?
Cyber security Awareness Month, held each October is a great time for your municipality to coordinate awareness in your community. One way to start the month and spread the word is for council to discuss it during one of your regular meetings by way of issuing a proclamation. This could be done independently, or in coordination with a (short) presentation to talk about cyber security best practices, as well as with other community events during the month.
Here’s a template resolution we’ve used with some of our municipalities. Hopefully it helps you! If you like it, please give us a shout-out and share the post with your social media platform of choice!
